Elaine Caroline Porter, daughter of Henry Walter Trim and Vera (Phipps) Trim was born April 9, 1950 in Greenville, South Carolina and passed from this life Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 70 years of age.

Elaine moved around as a young girl as her father was a minister serving in different communities. She graduated from Jamestown High School in Jamestown, North Dakota. Elaine attended Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Nebraska where she met the love of her life, Stephen Edward Porter. They were married on October 10, 1970 in Jamestown, North Dakota. Elaine and Stephen lived and raised their 2 children, Chad and Jennifer, in St. Charles, Iowa. Steve and Elaine recently moved to Newton, Iowa after living in Winterset, Iowa for several years. Elaine was a homemaker and also worked as a teacher's associate for I-35 and Winterset Schools.

Elaine was a Christian woman who loved God. She was a prayer warrior, she loved reading her Bible daily and taught God to her family and others. Elaine enjoyed her weekly lunches with her church friends and attended New Bridge Church in Winterset. Elaine enjoyed going antiquing with husband Stephen. Her greatest love was her grandchildren, she was a devoted grandmother and loved being with her grandchildren.

Those relatives who preceded Elaine in death were her father, Henry Walter Trim, her in-laws, W. Fon and Jean Porter, nephew Phillip Porter, niece Dani Porter and sister-in-law Marilyn Porter.

Elaine leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Stephen Porter of Newton, IA, son, Chad (Jennifer) Porter of Truro, IA, daughter, Jennifer (Jimmy) Tibben of Newton, IA, grandchildren, Sadie, Seth, Wade, and Wyatt Porter all of Truro, IA, Noah, Jonah, and Micah Tibben all of Newton, IA, mother, Vera Trim of Omaha, NE, brother, Murray (Kathy) Trim of Kobe, Japan, sister, Diane (Randy) Hughell of Omaha, NE, sister, Corine Gowen of Omaha, NE, sister, Ione (Dave) Foster of Iowa City, IA, sister, Jeanine (Peter) Maris of Broadlands, VA as well as many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at New Bridge Church, Monday April 12, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dave Foster, her brother-in-law officiating.

Family will greet friends prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 Monday at the New Bridge Church in Winterset.

The use of face coverings at either event are REQUIRED. If you are unable to attend the service in person, a live stream will be available at kalefuneralhome.com on Elaine's tribute wall beginning at 11:00 am, Monday.

Memorial contributions may be directed to her family to distribute to several organizations later.
