Alice Mae Hulbert

Alice Mae Hulbert “Mae”, 93, of Winterset, passed away on March 21, 2021 at Azria Health in Winterset.

Alice Mae Avitt was born in Williamson, Iowa on April 25, 1927, the daughter of Lesley and Ellen (Anderson) Avitt. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1945. She was united in marriage to Lester Hulbert and they raised four sons in St. Charles, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lesley and Ellen; husband, Lester; son, Jerry; brothers, Herbert and Frank Avitt; and sisters, Eloise Avitt and Irene Garlock.

Mae is survived by children, Frank (Wanda), David (Marion), and Roger (Carmen); 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be delayed until summer.
