Page 1, Column 6ROBERT CONWELL DIES AT LAVALLEUR HOME
Robert C. Conwell, 86, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. L. Lavalleur, with whom he has made his home the last five years. He was the son of Clark and Rebecca Conwell, born January 25, 1847, in Tuscarawas county, Ohio.
He came to Jasper county, Iowa, at the age of seven in a covered wagon. He married Miss Ellen Neff of Baxter in 1871. Five children were born to them, Mrs. Lavalleur; Mrs. J. A. Schroyer of Hertel, Wisconsin, Floyd Conwell of Pocatella, Idaho, O. E. Conwell of Baxter.
He leaves two brothers, Clark and Carlos, both of Baxter, two sisters, Mrs. Judd Booth of Marshalltown and Mrs. Vess Guthrie of Andover, South Dakota; and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Conwell died in 1915 and two years later he was married to Mrs. Sarah Rhone of Lorimor who died in 1925.
