Bill Kiddoo, 88, of Orangevale, Calif., passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2020.
Bill was born in Crookston, Minn., on March 9, 1932, to Benjamin and Augusta Kiddoo. Bill graduated from Winterset High School on June 3, 1951, and left the following day to join the Navy. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Lou Mitchell, on Dec. 28, 1952, at the Methodist Church in Winterset, Iowa. The newlyweds relocated to California following their short honeymoon. Bill served three tours of duty on board the USS Perkins Navy Ship during the Korean War as a Radarman Second Class until receiving his discharge on May 20, 1955. Bill and Pat became parents of three daughters, Michelle Rae, Randi Lynn, and Kerri Ellen. After ending his Naval Career, Bill worked in the semi-conductor industry in the Silicon Valley of California until the 90s.
Bill enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially football, baseball, basketball and golf. Some of his best memories and stories centered around playing football for Winterset High. Bill enjoyed camping, skiing, playing bridge, golfing, and was a whiz at shooting pool and playing ping-pong. Ask his sons-in-law about the "English" he would put on a ping-pong ball. He enjoyed Lake Tahoe, Calif., as a vacation spot and attended his Winterset High School Class Reunions as often as he could.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Mike) Grgich of San Jose, Calif.; Randi (Michael) Esau of Denair, Calif.; and Kerri (Jim) Plutchak of Citrus Heights, Calif. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: Becki (Danny) Woodall, Heather (David) Groebl, Jeffrey (Kim) Esau, Anthony (Hannah) Grgich, Amber (Kenny) Monroe, TJ Plutchak, Lindsay (Davey) Kocina, Peggy (Kyle) Paulsen, and Gregory Easu (Brianna, his significant other). He also leaves 13 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way in 2021) and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Augusta Kiddoo; Brothers, Robert Kiddoo, Benjamin Kiddoo Jr., and Raymond Kiddoo, sister, Zelma Krogen; and his beloved wife, Patricia Kiddoo.
A private burial is scheduled on Feb. 5, 2021, at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif, where where Bill and Patricia will be laid to final rest amid military honors.
