Obituary

Fayette H. Bissell died at the home of his parents at Stuart Tuesday morning, December 12th. He had been in poor health for several months, but was not thought to be in a dangerous condition until about November 1st. He then came to Stuart that he might be near a physician, and to take the Murphy treatment for consumption, hoping thereby to gain sufficient strength to go to the south, but the benefit it gave him was only temporary and after the bad weather commenced he failed very rapidly.

He was born in Wheatland, Clinton County, Iowa, and was the third of six children. Two brothers and three sisters survive him. He came to Madison County with his parents in 1880 and has lived there most of his time since then.

December 31, 1895, he married Helen M. Choate, who with two little children are left to mourn the loss os a kind and loving husband and father.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Griffith at the M. E. church, Stuart, Iowa, Wednesday, December 13. His remains were interred in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Tuesday, Fay Bissell, who has been with his father, F. B. Bissell, for several weeks, died quite suddenly. He has been failing since last spring, but it is only recently that his family felt alarmed at his condition. He took the Murphy treatment for consumption but the treatment was imperfectly given owing to a leakage in the apparatus, and no good results followed.

The funeral took place on Wednesday. The deceased was 28 years of age. He leaves a wife and two little girls.
