December 2020Sandra (Sandy) Lynn Clark, 61, of Winterset, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel, where a visitation will be held prior from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Bedford City Cemetery, Bedford, Iowa at 1:00 p.m., Friday. Social distancing and face coverings are required. Live webcast will be available on her Tribute Wall at caldwellparrish.com. Memorials may be made to the family.
Sandra Lynn was born August 5, 1959 at home in Maloy, Iowa, the daughter of Willis and Lois (Harris) Newby. She graduated from Mt. Ayr High School in 1977 and married Michael D. Clark on October 23, 1978. They resided in Winterset and raised two daughters, Kim and Melissa.
Sandy was site manager at the Madison County Transportation and Meal Site for over 18 years. She enjoyed volunteering and even entertained as the clown, “Molly Sue McButter”. She loved popcorn, napping, watching Nascar and Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball. She also enjoyed playing claw machines. She was known for her O’Henry bars and chocolate chip cookies. Sandy loved time spent with her family and cherished family gatherings. Her daughters were her world. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews and her “fur” grandkids.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Mike; daughters, Kimberly Sue Clark and Melissa Lynn Clark, both of Johnston; her sisters, Patty Newby of Shenandoah, Debbie Tresten of Winterset, Diana (Shannon) Arends of Mt. Ayr, and Sue (Kent) Jehle of Green Valley, AZ; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Lois (Harris) Newby; daughter, Mindy Clark; stepdaughter, Michelle Clark; and a brother, Kenneth Newby.
