Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home for Alfred Dale Hopkins, 70, of 610 S.W. Watrous Ave., who died of a heart attack Tuesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the cemetery at Winterset.

Mr. Hopkins, a Des Moines native who lived here most of his live, lived several years in Winterset. He was a retired self-employed interior decorator and was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice; five sons, Richard Hopkins of Oskaloosa, Jim Hopkins of Des Moines, Alfred Hopkins, Jr., of Kansas City, Robert Hopkins of Port Washington, Wis., and Dick Middaugh of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Block of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Dorothy Roberts of Boone and Mrs. Barbara Brozek of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Rippey of Milton and Mrs. Beulah Roe of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Edward Hopkins Clark of Oakland; 22 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
