Frances D. Silverthorn, 73, of Norwalk died of a respiratory ailment Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Norwalk United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.

Mrs. Silverthorn was born in Decatur County, Ind., and had lived in central Iowa for many years. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Dianna Cooper and Donella Maher, both of Norwalk, and Donna Tucker of Cedar Falls; a foster daughter, Diane Anthony of Indianola; a sister, Ruth Thompson of Overland Park, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Arrangements are being handled by McLaren’s Funeral Home in West Des Moines.
