Alvin W. Roby, 68, of 3127 Circle Drive NE, a resident of Cedar Rapids most of his life, died Monday following a long illness.

Born Feb. 16, 1908, at Truro, he was married to Dorothy Thomson at Anamosa Aug. 13, 1936. Mr. Roby was a retired employee of Rex Manufacturing.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Clark, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Carol Ann Solum, Decorah; two brothers, Russell Roby, Agency; a sister, Mrs. Grace Mack, Truro, and four grandchildren.

Services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Turner chapel east by the Rev. Philip E. Ewoldsen of Noelridge Park Christian church. Burial at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Young cemetery at Truro.

Friends may call at Turner chapel east until 10 a.m. Wednesday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
