Wayne Garrison Davis

Wayne Garrison Davis, a marketing and graphic design professional and long-time resident of Winterset, Iowa, died on November 6, 2020 at the age of 66.

Wayne was born in Evanston, Illinois on May 3, 1954 to Wes and Leontine. He graduated from Ripon College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design and Applied Arts and worked as Advertising Director for Mills Fleet Farm; Vice President, Advertising for CT (Central Tractor) Farm & Family; and Director of Marketing for MicroFrontier. He was owner/president of TYPExpress and Digimage Arts.

After meeting in college, he married Patti Kay in February of 1978. While living in Wisconsin they had a son, Charles in July of 1984, before moving to Des Moines, Iowa, eventually settling in Winterset until Patti's death in 2002. In April of 2019, he married Kim after 13 years of sharing their lives together.

Wayne loved to travel. He was passionate about photography and videography and using his skills in website development and marketing. He enjoyed technology and exercising his sharp wit. He was a devoted member to both his family and his community serving as a documentarian and as ambassador for the Madison County Chamber of Commerce and secretary for the John Wayne Birthplace. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Kim; his son and daughter-in-law, Charles (Eryn) Davis, and grandson, Miles; his sister, Janette Davis, and nephews, Keith and Kyle, and niece, Nicole; stepchildren, Joe Case Jr., Christy Case (PJ Gasparovich), and Michelle (Mark) Smith; ten step grandchildren and multiple step nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws, Karen (Jerry) Dennis, Eleanor (Joe) Vivone, and Deb (Dave) Santage; and brother-in-law, Jim (Sandi) Brown.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patti Kay; and his parents, Roy (Wes) Wesley Jr. and Leontine Davis; and sister-in-law, Sandi Smith.
