Charles Roberts Funeral Tuesday

Services for Charles A. Roberts, 91, of 1253 Forty-first St., who died Saturday at Broadlawns General hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at White’s west side funeral home. Burial will be in United Brethren Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Roberts was born in Springfield, Ill., and came to Iowa in a covered wagon in 1855. A retired farmer, he had been a Des Moines resident 40 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stephen P. Sutton, Des Moines, and Mrs. Julia Morris, Glendale, Cal.; four sons, George and Frank Roberts, both of Winterset, Ia.; Mackhenry Roberts, Fort Dodge, Ia.; and Joe Roberts, Los Angeles, Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Henry C. Clayton, Van Meter, Ia.; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
