Irene Virginia Crawford, age 85, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Valley View Village in Des Moines.

Irene was born August 17, 1934 in Corning, Iowa to Earl and Mabel (Barton) Smith.

She was the owner/operator of her own beauty shop for ten years. Primarily she was a homemaker throughout her life. Irene loved her family above all else and enjoyed tending her flowers gardens.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Crawford; sons, Rich Crawford, Bob Crawford and Rodney Crawford; and three grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Ron Crawford.

According to Irene’s wishes, there will be no formal services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Irene.
