Services for Hugh W. Mayne, 89, of 1064 Twenty-second St., who died at his home Friday after a 12-year illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Caldwell-Brien Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery, Winterset.
Mr. Mayne had lived at Aberdeen, S.D., and Fort Wayne, Ind., before coming to Des Moines 16 years ago.
A retired teacher, he taught at Oak Park school in Des Moines and was a professor at South Dakota State Normal, Aberdeen, S.D., and at the Teachers University of Commerce, Fort Wayne, Ind., for 15 years.
He was a charter member of Auburn Masonic Lodge, Des Moines and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal church here.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle, and several nieces and nephews.
