Vernon Burger Rites Tuesday

Services for Vernon E. Burger, 64, of 1517 E. Twenty-first St., who died of a stroke Saturday, at the Polk County Farm, will be at noon Tuesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at St. Charles.

Born in St. Charles, he had lived in Des Moines 43 years. He was a retired streetcar operator and a member of the streetcar union Local 441. He was a member of the St. Charles Christian Church.

Surviving are his widow Peggy; a son, Emmett of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Sharon King of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Bargie MacLean of Canada; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
