Memorial services for Georgia Shannon Bricker, 60, of 1917 Eleventh St., will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. The body has been donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

Mrs. Bricker, a telephone operator for the Des Moines Register and Tribune Company, died Saturday at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital after suffering a heart attack Thursday night at the Varsity Theater.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Mrs. Bricker graduated from North High School and attended Drake University. Before joining The Register and Tribune in 1946, she managed the Uptown, Ingersoll and Hiland theaters.

She also was a professional dancer and model, and appeared in the 1930’s on Irving Grossman’s Barn Dance Frolic on WHO Radio. She modeled fashions for the Younker’s and Utica department stores.

Mrs. Bricker was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and for five years was secretary of the American Kennel Club.

Survivors include a sister, Billie Rogers of Warminster, Pa.; two nephews, Tom Lundy of Granada Hills, Calif., and Gilbert Rogers of King of Prussia, Pa.; and a niece, Shirley Gill of Orange Park, Fla.

Mrs. Bricker’s late husband, Dale, was a widely known central Iowa musician.
