WENZEL SUICIDES MONDAY MORNING

Grand River Farmer Found Hanging In Corn Crib - Ill health

Harvey Wenzel, 54, well known farmer of Grand River township, living five miles southwest of Macksburg hung himself early Monday morning.

Wenzel had been in ill health for some time, complaining particularly that he could not sleep. He got up about 4:30 Monday morning and went to the barn. At six o’clock the body was found hanging from a rafter of the corn crib.

He left a note saying that he had been unable to sleep but gave no other reason for his act. Ill health is the only cause known for the suicide. He is survived by his wife.

Coroner J. A. Leech went to the farm but held no inquest.
