Ronald Horn, 58, of Des Moines, formerly of the Greenfield and Orient areas, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at EveryStep Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

A Celebration of Life Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Doug Brunell will officiate.

Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family Online condolences can be given on the tribute wall at powersfh.com.

Ronald Eugene Horn was born, December 28, 1961 in Creston, to LeRoy Claus Horn and Marion Kay (Henry) Horn. He was educated in Orient-Macksburg schools.

On June 9, 1984, Ron married Laura Jeanne McDowell in Macksburg. They lived and worked in the Creston area. Ron did a wide range of different work. He did roofing work for many years. Ron also did welding for years. Laura and Ron divorced in 1994. Most recently Ron was living in the Des Moines.

Ron is survived by his three daughters, Mandy McDowell of Des Moines, Rochsi Rhea of Arkansas, and Ashley Horn of Des Moines; a son, Tyler (Dijana) Horn of Des Moines; his ex-wife Laura Rowe of Des Moines; his mother, Marian Horn of Orient; his sister Patricia Savage of Creston; his brother Glen Horn of Orient; 10 grandchildren, Michaela McDowell, Caleb Branham, Aubreanna McDowell-Mckee, Turner & Layla Rhea, Allizae Reed, Ayden Horn, Aizlynn Thomas-Horn, Xavier & Maleck Horn.

He was preceded in death by his father LeRoy Horn in 2008.
