Page 1, Column 1The funeral services over the remains of Mrs. A. W. Dooley were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Dooley home. The services were conducted by Rev. Edgar Price, of the Christian church of Bedford, Iowa, who preached an eloquent sermon on the life and character of the deceased. The remains were interred in the Dexter cemetery.
America W. Peters was born in Kentucky, in 1828 and died April 6, 1906, at her home in Dexter, Iowa, after a protracted illness, she having been in feeble health for several years. She was united in marriage to John Dooley of Indiana, in 1847 and removed with her husband to Minnesota in 1858 where she resided until the spring of 1870 when she came to Iowa settling with her husband and family in Madison county. About ten years ago she became a resident of Dexter. Mr. Dooley died three years after moving to town. Ten children were born of this union all of whom survive her, and seven were present at the funeral, and twenty-four grandchildren.—Dexter Sentinel.
