Irma Lea Brannum, 86, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Brannum, the daughter of the late Mac and Lovisa (Eggleston) Gentry, was born May 12, 1933 in Winterset, Iowa. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and formerly worked as executive secretary for VNA (Visiting Nurse’s Assoc.). Mrs. Brannum was a member of Three Rivers Shrine Club Shrinetts, a member of Missouri Federation of Women’s Democratic Club, was a Master Gardener and was a member of Water District #1 Board. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, staying active and going to church.
She was married to Bobby L. Brannum on Jan. 24, 1951, in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2017.
Survivors include a son Kenneth Lee (Sally) Brannum of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Lauren Brannum, Sarah Schaffer and Erin Meadows; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sons, Gary Lee Brannum and David Lee Brannum, a brother, William ‘Bill’ Gentry and a sister, Bernadine Ellen Wilson also preceded Mrs. Brannum in death.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6th at First Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the at the church with Rev. Frank Chlastak officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
