Harold (Phil) Libby

Harold Phillip Libby (Phil), 78, of Winterset, passed away peacefully on May, 30, 2020 at his home.

Phil was born on July 18, 1941 to Harold and Zelma Libby on their farm in rural Madison County. He was a graduate of Winterset High School. Phil married the love of his life, Sharon Spera, on October 14, 1963 in Winterset.

Phil farmed in rural Madison County for over 50 years. While farming, he also owned and operated Libby Fencing. In his free time, he and Sharon loved to get out and go camping. Eventually they become snowbirds and wintered in Brownsville, Texas. Above all else, Phil enjoyed being around his family and cherished every moment he spent with them.

Phil is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Libby of Winterset; son, Daniel Phillip (Aida) Libby of Brownsville, TX; brother, Steve (Sue) Libby of Indianola; sister, Becky Comp of Dayton; granddaughter, Valerie Alivia Libby; and one, soon to arrive, great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Zelma Libby; and sister, Ann Fitzgerald.

No funeral services are planned at this time. A private family burial will take place in the Winterset Cemetery.
