Mrs. Carrie Burris, the widow of L. L. Burris died December 28 at an Atlantic hospital from complication following a paralytic stroke suffered eight years ago.
Funeral services were held December 30.
Mrs. Burris was the daughter of Andrew and Mary Henderson of Patterson. She was married to Mr. Burris at Patterson in 1880 and in 1889 they moved to Atlantic. Mr. Burris died in 1913. Mrs. Burris was a cousin of W. A. Ryner, Mrs. W. H. Lull, Frank and Carl Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Ryner were in Atlantic to attend the services.

Resident Here Since 1889 Dead As Result of Stoke Suffered Eight Years Ago.
Mrs. Carrie Burris, wife of L. L. Burris, late local carpenter, died this morning at 4 o’clock at the Atlantic hospital where she had been a patient for some time. Death was due to complication resulting from a paralytic stroke which Mrs. Burris suffered eight years ago.
Mrs. Burris was the daughter of Andrew and Mary Henderson. She was born in Patterson, Ia., Aug. 1, 1857, and was married to L. L. Burris at Patterson in 1880. In 1889, she and her husband came to Atlantic and resided here until their respective deaths. Mr. Burris died in 1913. Mrs. Burris had made her home with her two daughters, Mrs. J. H. Beck and Mrs. Ivan Lund both of this city, for some years.
Funeral Sunday.
Besides the two daughters, four grandchildren survive. They are Marie, Evelyn, Darrell and Jessie Beck, children of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Beck, Sixth and Linn streets.
Mrs. Burris was a lifelong member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home, the Rev. William Mack officiating. The services will be at 2:30 and burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
