Page 3, Column 4Mrs. Murphy Passes Away
Mrs. J.R. Murphy, a former resident of this city, died at her home in Des Moines Tuesday from the effects of a broken hip which she sustained on July 16th. The accident occurred while she was walking in the back yard of her home, when she slipped and fell. Mrs. Murphy is survived by a brother, Judge Mott, of this city, and by three children, Mrs Caroline Murphy who resides with her, Jno. C. Murphy of 1228 7th St., of Des Moines, and Mrs. T.J. Ritner, of Atchison, Kansas. All of the children were present at the funeral which occurred today.
