Hezekiah Eggers died Saturday, April 18, 2020, in Washington, Mo., from lung cancer that metastasized.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the family is having a memorial service on June 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the Patterson Community Center in Patterson, Iowa, with a potluck dinner after. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed in his mother’s name to The Mid-America Bank in Belle, Mo. Cards can be sent to his mother at 4559 Elkhead Rd, Bland MO 65014.

Hezekiah Terah Eggers was born Aug. 24, 1971, in Osceola, Iowa, to William and Margaret (Brown) Eggers. He lived in many places in the Midwest before coming with his family to Winterset in 1983. He graduated from Carlisle in 1990. He went to truck driving school at DMACC in Ankeny in 1992 and has been driving truck ever since except for a year when he was recovering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He settled on a farm in Gasconade County, Mo., in 2015.

He is preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Steven Carpenter and Jeffery Weathers; and two uncles: Donald Brown and Richard Eggers.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Hawxby of Bland, Mo.; his father, William (Kathleen) Eggers of Winterset; his brother, Ezekial (Toni) Eggers of Carlisle; his sisters, Susanna (Francisco) Sanchez and Rebekah Eggers of Champaign, Ill., and Deborah (James) Lasater of Bland, Mo.; many other family members and friends; and his dog, Floppy.
