Max D. Marean

Max D. Marean, 83, of Peru, died Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Memorial services for Max will be held at a later date.

Max was born on March 27, 1937, in Guthrie County, Iowa to Kenneth and Eva (Kimm) Marean. After his marriage to Elizabeth Jane Crawley on December 15, 1957 they lived several places before, Max and Jane moved to the Peru area to raise their family. They have lived there for the past 45 years. Max was a carpenter and framed houses for his entire career. He enjoyed completing word search puzzles in his free time. He loved to give people a hard time and be the center of attention. He will be dearly missed.

Max is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane Marean of Winterset; children, Michael (Stacey Flaig) Marean of Florida, Michele (Lee Harper) Marean of Peru, and Mark (Stacy) Marean of Peru; sister, Evelyn McDonald of Torrence, CA; grandchildren, Jesse Songer, Matt Songer, Nick Songer, Grant Marean, and Lance Marean; and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eva Marean; brothers, Marvin (Joyce) Marean, and Richard Marean; and grandson, Casey Marean.
