Creston, IowaLundy C. Weeks, 73, of Lorimor died of cancer May 8, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Services will be 11 am, Thursday, May 11 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Sandy Smith will officiate the service. Private burial will be at a later date. Open visitation will be 2 pm to 8 pm, Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials can be made to the family. Lundy C. Weeks, son of Rosie Mae Hessler and Amos Sylvanis Weeks was born on August 11, 1932 in Floris, Iowa. He was educated in Floris Schools. On December 25, 1955 he married Barbara Ione (Bates) in Eldon, Iowa. He lived in numerous places in Iowa while traveling with construction before settling in Creston. Later they moved to a farm north of Afton and in 1989 moved to Lorimor. He was a member of Carpenters Local 106.
Survivors include his two daughters; Ruth (husband Gary) Sanson of Lorimor and Kim (husband "Shady") Shady of Macksburg; four sons, John (wife Crysi) Weeks of Macksburg, David (wife Christine) Weeks, Danny (wife Diane) Weeks, Timmy (wife Lori) Weeks, all of Prescott; five sisters, Jean (husband Harry) Williams, Emelia (husband Verle) Welch, Shirley (husband Ed) Liles, Willa Dean (husband Dan) Cloke, and Susie (husband Jason) Bonner, all of Eldon; four brothers, Frank Weeks of Eldon, Sylvanis (wife Jan) Weeks of Ottumwa, Ernie Weeks and Amos "Jr." (wife Pat) Weeks both of Eldon; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara, June 10, 2003.
