Services for Mrs. Barbara H. Shambaugh, of Van Meter, were held Sunday, July 5, at the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. She passed away on June 30 at the age of 92 years, following a long illness.

Born in Quebec, Canada she came to Madison County at the age of 13 years, and except for a short time, spent her entire life in Iowa.

Rev. Basil Grimes was in charge of the services, Robert G. Fisher was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Dennis Young. Casket bearers were George Best, Walter Eichner, Richard Johnson, Eugene Armstrong, Fred Trindle and R. S. Goodson. Burial was at the Chapel Cemetery. [Union Chapel - Jefferson Township]

Mrs. Shambaugh is survived by a son, Dr. G.I.G. Shambaugh, of Des Moines and one granddaughter, Mrs. Donald J. Carey, Jr., of Florida. Also two sisters, Miss Jessie Ireland and Miss Rhoda Ireland, of Des Moines.
