Page 29, Column 2LeRoy "Pete" Addy, 75, of Grimes died of a respiratory ailment Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, and burial will be in Sunny Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Addy was born in Winterset and lived in the Des Moines area most of his life, moving to Grimes two years ago. He was a retired construction superintendent for Ringland Johnson Crowley Co., a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Polk City American Legion, Boline-Manfredi Veterans of Foreign Wars post and the Carpenters and Joiners Union.
Surviving are his wife, Florence; a daughter, Kathleen Griffey of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a son, Jerry of Altoona; a sister, Pauline Smith of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center, where the family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Home Respiratory Care.
