Page 3, Column 3Martha Augusta Best, daughter of Herman and Anna Toma Schwartz, was born on November 25, 1909, in Des Moines. After weeks of illness she was called to her eternal home on November 26, 1976, at the age of 67 years and one day, her death occurring in the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
She was baptized in infancy and also confirmed in a Lutheran church in Des Moines.
On August 29, 1928, she was married to George E. Best in St. Paul, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three children.
After her marriage she and her husband lived on a farm near Booneville, her home until her death.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert and Donald of Booneville, and one daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Lienemann of Adel; three grandchildren; one brother, Herman Schwartz of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Rehbein of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Mrs. Dorothy Stemler of Tacoma, Washington.
