Funeral services for Alva L. Driscoll, widely known in Van Meter and vicinity were held there this morning at the United Brethren Church. He was 73 years old and died of cancer Sunday at a hospital in Emmetsburg at which town he had been making his home for the past four years with a son.
Mr. Driscoll farmed in the Van Meter area for many years before retiring. He is survived by one son, a daughter, two sisters and one brother. There are also six grandchildren. He had been ill for about three months.

Van MeterThe news of the death of Alvy Driscoll has just reached Van Meter. He had been living with his son Keith at Emmetsburg since the death of his wife, Mattie. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at E.U.B. church.
