Death of Mrs. Sarah Willcox

Mrs. Sarah Roberts Willcox died at the home of her son, J. H. Willcox, January 30. She was seventy-eight years old and had been ill about a year. Mr. Willcox died in Texas in 1909, where they had moved to benefit his health.

Mrs. Willcox, one of the pioneer women of Adair county, moved there in 1856 with her father, Uncle Jimmy Roberts, well known in both Madison and Adair counties. It was there that she met Mr. Willcox and where they made their home for many years.

Three sons, Charles of Minnesota, Ray, of Spencer, Oklahoma, and J. H. of Winterset, survive. Mrs. Creed Estel, of Winterset, is a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. F. Clare McCallon and interment was in the Roberts cemetery.
