Cora A. Martens was born Nov. 14, 1902 in Audubon. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran church north of Adair. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Dexter, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Clarence Martens on Dec. 11, 1935. Since that time she has resided in Madison County and was a faithful member of Trinity congregation. She departed this life on her wedding day, Dec. 11. Surviving are her husband, her aged mother, Mrs. Mary E. Petri, and two sisters, Mrs. Grant Martens, of Winterset, and Mrs. Carl Weisbrod of Adel, Iowa.

The sincere sympathy of Trinity goes to the bereaved. May our heavenly Father heal the wounds, and may we all learn to number our days and to “apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
