Mrs. Hammer, 87 Taken by Death

Mrs. John (Minnie) Hammer, 87, a long time resident of Adel passed away Sunday, Nov. 23 at her home.

Immediate survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John Rodda of Adel, and two sons, Ralph Hammer and Robert Hammer of Des Moines.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Adel.

Minnie Maude Hammer was born November 27, 1887 at Dunworth, Ia., and passed away November 23, 1975 at home in Adel.

Minnie was the daughter of William Henry Adams and Mary Alice Hougham.

She was married to John Hammer in Knoxville, Ia. on January 5, 1905.

They lived in Swan, Ia. working on the railroad. They lived also in South Dakota and Canada, moving back to Swan.

In 1925 they moved to Adel. They had four children.

Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Vera Rodda, two brothers, and a sister; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Surviving are a daughter, Hilda Rodda of Adel, two sons, Ralph and Robert of Des Moines, ten grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Minnie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Adel, and a past employee of Woodward St. Hospital.
