Hazel Dunbar Hummel was born in Galesburg, Ill., March 25, 1894 to Loren and Bell Dunbar. A resident of Adel, she died at the age of 82, June 16, 1976 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

She was raised and received her education in Dallas County. She was baptized in the Christian Church in DeSoto. In 1912 she was united in marriage to Earl Hummel.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, brothers, Edgar and Percy Dunbar, sisters, jessie Barton, Della Gilbert, Margaret Eakin, and granddaughter, Shirley L. Brower.

Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Maxine) Isenhart of Panora, and Mrs. Zon (Pauline) Brower of Adel, sister, Elsie Sly Henderson, Ill., brothers, Harry of Mountainburg, Ark., Bert of DeSoto and Tony of Adel, grandchildren Larry Isenhart of Des Moines, Barbara Jean Fornicola of Adel, Janice Sue Gibbons of Redfield, Ronald Glenn of Ackley, Dennis Isenhart and Wanda Stringer of Panora, as well as 14 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Services were held June 18, 1976 from Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home, Adel. Rev. Paul I. Nelson officiated. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.
