WAS LAST MEMBER OF PIONEER FAMILY

Preston Boling, the last of the pioneer Boling family who settled in Monroe township, in Madison county in 1855, died in the Clarinda hospital last month.

He was one of the oldest residents of Madison county, living here over seventy years. He came with his father and mother to Iowa from Indiana with ox team. The family was one of the most influential and prominent ones in the early history of the county.

Boling was sent to the county farm three or four years ago as one of the incurable insane. There he killed Berline while chopping wood and was confined afterwards in Clarinda. He had no family.
