Page 1, Column 6SERVICES HELD FOR MARGARET PADLEY
Funeral services were held here at the Adel Christian Church Sunday, January 20, for Margaret Ann Padley, widely known Adel resident. She passed away at the Iowa Methodist hospital on Wednesday, January 16, after several weeks of illness. Mrs. Padley was 59 years of age at the time of her death.
Rev. Clarence Kleckner officiated at the services. Casket bearers were Vern Danilson, Ray McKowen, Bob Dooley, George Mueller, Don Hazen. Robert G. Fisher was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Miriam Caudron. Assisting with the flowers were Mrs. Ruth Dooley and Mrs. Maxine Hazen. Burial was in the Van Meter Cemetery.
Margaret Ann was born in Des Moines on March 3, 1897, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Parker. She spent her childhood there and attended Des Moines schools. She was married to John L. Padley on May 19, 1917 and to this union was born two children. A daughter preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, John and one son, John A. of California. Grandchildren, Robert Kempe of Miranda, South Dakota and Paula R. and Stephen Padley of California. Also one sister, Helen, of Sioux City.
_______________________Coordinator's note: The Padley family was living in Madison County per the 1920 Federal Census and in 1901 when the mother died per her obituary.
