Page 20, Column 3MESA – Gail A. Rusk, 69, former Iowa legislator, died yesterday at 530 S. Alma School Road, where he was a winter visitor.
He was a retired farmer, born in Madison County, Iowa. He was a member of the Newton, lowa, Kiwanis Club and Chamber of Commerce. He also belonged to the Grange and served as an elder in Newton’s Christian Church.
A prayer service for him will be held at 7:30 p.m. today Larry J. Melcher Mortuary, 43 S. Stapley Drive, Final services and burial will be in Newton.
Surviving are his wife, Evelina; six sons, Carl of Phoenix, Dale of Mesa. George of Dallas, and Claude, Forrest and James, all of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Lang, Grinnell, Iowa; 23 grandchildren, and a brother and sister out of state.

(The Register's Iowa News Service)NEWTON, IA. - Gail A. Rusk, 69, a Newton area farmer, died Sunday at Mesa, Ariz., where he and his wife, Eva, were spending the winter.
Mr. Rusk, a Democrat, served two terms in the Iowa House of Representatives and was a former Jasper County supervisor.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, six sons, a brother, Clay Rusk, and a sister, Mrs. Clela Willis, both of Des Moines.
Services will be at 130 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wittemberg Cemetery.

Page 11, Column 6NEWTON (AP) – Funeral services will be held here Friday for former State Rep. Gail Rusk, D-Newton, who died after an apparent heart attack in Mesa, Arizona where he had been vacationing.
Rusk served in the House from 1957-60 representing Jasper County.
