EVANSTON - Memorial graveside services for Ernest O. Montgomery, 81, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fort Bridger Cemetery.
He died July 29, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Fred and Josephine M. (Slinker) Montgomery.
He married Irene E. Howard on Sept. 12, 1945, in Towson, Md.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and was also involved with the American Legion and the VFW. He especially loved to garden.
Survivors include his wife of Evanston; a son, Fred Montgomery and his wife of Evanston; three daughters, Linda Beard and her husband of Rock Springs, Donna Montgomery of Limestone, Tenn., and Peggy D'Zio and her husband of San Clemente, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Uinta Home Health & Hospice, 1229 Uinta St., Evanston, 82930.
