Jan. 8, 1919 - June 10, 1993LINCOLN CITY – Gerald "Wayne" Hogue Sr., 74, died Thursday in Salem.
A native of Madison County, Iowa, he grew up in Iowa. When he was 21 years old, he moved to the Lincoln City area, where he was a heavy equipment operator for construction and logging operations.
He was a member of the International Union of Operators and Engineers Local No. 701, Portland. He served as a second-class petty officer in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his son, Gerald W. Jr., serving in the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va.; daughters, Patricia Bogan of Dallas and Sandra Jones of Salem; sister, Evelyn Oster of Montrose, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland. Arrangements are by Pacific View mortuary, Lincoln City.
