ELDON R. MITCHELL

Services for Eldon R. Mitchell, 54, of 3010 Fourth St., who died Friday of a heart attack at Mercy Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.

A native of Madison County, he lived near Winterset before moving to Des Moines 19 years ago. He was an employe of the U.S. Postal Service. A World War II veteran, he was a member of the Fairground Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amvets.

Surviving are his wife, Bessie; a daughter, Mrs. Roberta Lind of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a son, Allan W., a U.S. embassy guard in Laos; a stepson, Douglas Carmichael of Des Moines; two brothers, Edward of Madrid and John of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy White and Mrs. Margaret Binns, both of Winterset; and five grandchildren.
