Joseph Meade Taken by Death

Joseph Meade, sr., 70, of West Des Moines, died Sunday at Mercy hospital following a brief illness.

Until coming to West Des Moines last January, Mr. Meade had farmed near Cumming since 1912. He was born and reared in Johnson county.

Services will be at 9 a. m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart church in West Des Moines.

Surviving Mr. Meade are his wife, Ella; five daughters, Sister Miriam, Mount Carmel convent, Bettendorf; Mrs. Willard Cummings, Oelwein; Mrs. Don Blackman, Des Moines; Mrs. Albert Bell, Cumming; and Mrs. Bruce Boucher, Grosse Ile, Mich.; and three sons, John Meade Cumming; Joseph Meade, jr., with the merchant marine, and Tommy Meade, attending Maur Hill High school, Atchison, Kan.
