Vera Towne, 84, died January 28, 2004 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial following at Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.

Vera was retired from Polk Co., was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Rocco and husband John of St. Louis; her sister, Nola Robbins of Rupert, Idaho; and brother, Lyle Dudney of Lorimor, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and sister, Velda Bedwell.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
