Page 18, Column 2Flossie Criss, Lorimor, dies
Flossie Criss, died today at 83. She had been a resident of Madison Manor North nursing home in Winterset. Mrs. Criss was born on Dec. 20, 1892 in Winterset to Arthur and Anna Sawhill Barr. She was married to David Criss and he preceded her in death in 1966. Mrs. Criss was a lifetime resident of both Union and Madison counties.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Methodist church in Lorimor. Rev. Bill Musson and Rev. Kathryn McDougal will officiate. Burial will be in the Lorimor cemetery.
Survivors include, three sons, Virgil Criss of Lorimor, Wayne Criss of San Jose, Calif., Earl Criss of Eldorado, Calif. and one daughter, Joanne Rocksvold of Oakland, Calif. Also two sisters, Elsie Benson of Afton and Bessie Hooper of Winterset. Mrs. Criss was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, her parents and two brothers.

LORIMOR – Funeral services for Flossie Mary Criss were held today at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist church in Lorimor. Rev. Kathryn McDougal officiated and music was by Mrs. Larry Stephens. The hymns “In the Garden” and “My Mother’s Hands” were played. Casket bearers were Wayne Barr, Terry Carlson, Wayne Carlson, Skyler Criss, Kenny Oxley, Lawrence Hooper and Ed Criss. Interment was in the Lorimor cemetery.
Mrs. Criss, a lifetime resident of both Union and Madison counties, died Friday.

Flossie Criss, born December 20, 1892, in Winterset to Arthur and Anna Sawhill Barr, died Friday, July 2, 1976, at Madison Manor North in Winterset.
A resident of Madison and Union Counties most of her life, Mrs. Criss was married to Howard Criss. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Survivors include three sons, Virgil of Lorimor, Wayne and Earl, both of California, and a daughter, Mrs. Joan Rocksvald, also of California and several grandchildren.
Two sisters survive Mrs. Criss. They are Elsie Benson of Afton, Iowa and Bessie Hooper of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and two brothers.

LORIMOR – Mrs. Joan Rocksvold and daughter Lynne and Wayne and Earl Criss, of California are visiting the Virgil Criss home. They were called back due to the death of their mother, Mrs. Flossie Criss.
