Mary Cowie Dies Tuesday

Funeral services for Mary Josephine Cowie were held Thursday, November 16 at the Watts and Soll Funeral Home in Murray. She died Tuesday, November 14 in Osceola. The 9:30 a.m. services were conducted by the Rev. M. Stanley Ballard with graveside services at Cedar Park Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois.

Mary Josephine Cowie was born June 23, 1907 at Truro, the daughter of Elmer and Maude Goodrich. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church and had lived in Murray for the past three years. She was united in marriage to John Cowie at Des Moines in March of 1943.

Surviving relatives include husband, John; mother, Maude of Osceola; daughters, Betty and husband, Jim Little of Los Angeles, California; Billy and husband, Eddie Howell of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, John Goodrich and wife, Marie of Osceola; Frank and wife, Betty Goodrich of Des Moines; Ray and wife, Helen Goodrich of Osceola, Mack and wife, Aliene Goodrich of Des Moines; sisters, Opal and husband, Frank Smith of Osceola, Dorothy and husband, Verne Rolfe of Portland, Oregon, Clara and husband Ralph Wilburn of Agency, Iowa; Peggy and husband, Ross Paschall of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers and one sister.
