Lela Haselhuhn, 91 passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2011. A memorial service will be held at the Adel United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Lela was born on August 8, 1919 in DeSoto, Iowa to Walter and Dorothy Bricker. Graduating from DeSoto High School, she went to earn a degree in music from Drake University. She taught music and piano for fifty plus years. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an avid bowler.

Lela married Merle Haselhuhn on May 30, 1948 in Adel. She will be remembered by her loving husband of 62 years; son, Don (Anne) and her grandchildren, Adam, Kinser, and Odessa.
