Kenneth Brown, 94, of Murray died May 22, 2011, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Services were 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Alex Bauman officiated. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Greater Regional Hospice or Murray Lions Club. Online condolences may be left at kalefuneralhome.com.

Kenneth Clair Brown, son of Mabel Zella (Wheeler) and Leroy Martin Brown, was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Macksburg.

As a young man, Kenneth moved to California and worked in an aircraft factory, building the B-24 bomber. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946.

After his discharge, he returned to work at the aircraft factory.

On Feb. 17, 1946, Kenneth married Sylvia Ann Cervenka in Denver, Colo.

They returned to the Murray area, where Kenneth farmed for many years. They moved into Murray in 1975, and Kenneth worked for Farm and Home in Osceola for 18 years, retiring in 1986.

Kenneth was a member of William-Lochrie Post 405 of the American Legion and Murray Baptist Church.

Kenneth is survived by his sons, Kenneth R. (wife Patricia) Brown of Maple Park, Ill., Donald R. (wife Helen) Brown of South Elgin, Ill., and Eugene L. Brown of Murray; grandchildren, Kendal (wife Meghan) Brown of Sycamore, Ill., Alicia (husband Judd) Hardy of Maple Park, Ill., Amy (husband Matt) Trainor of Maple Park, Ill., Leah (husband Mike) Morong of Elburn, Ill., and Dustin (wife Stephanie) Brown of Warsaw, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Brenna and Angel, MacKenzie, Teaghan and Jessub, Emma and Kaden and Mitchell and Tyler; sister-in-law Lois Brown of Osceola; other relatives and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother Marvin Brown and sister Zella Burgus.
