Services for Verdia E. Ackelson, 87, of Riverview Manor Convalescent and Nursing Home, 701 Riverview Ave., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.
Mrs. Ackelson died of a heart ailment Friday at the nursing home.
Born in Winterset, she lived in Des Moines most of her life and was a member of Soul's Haven Chapel.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Indianola; a sister, Edna Wilkenson of Des Moines; a brother, Leo of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
