Mother Of Eleven Children Taken

New London – Mrs. Henry Putney, 46, of 1¾ miles west of New London, mother of 11 children, died at Mercy hospital Sunday, April 17, at 6:15 o'clock. Mrs. Putney had been a patient four days.

Ora Alice Putney, daughter of Harriet M. Addy arid Charles F. Hymes, was born July 1, 1908, at Patterson, Iowa. She was married at Greenfield, February 4, 1928, to Henry G. Putney. Mrs. Putney was a member of the United Brethren church at Winterset.

Besides her, husband, she leaves the following children: Henry Lee Putney of New London, Mrs. Peggy Lorraine Snider of Brighton, Mrs. Ardith Loretta Naifeh of Monmouth, Ill., and the following at home: Kenneth Leroy, Marlin Larry, Marvin Leland, Tresa Louisa, Morris Lelon, Dennis Granville, Lennette Sue and Timothy Blaine; also three grandchildren and the following sisters: Mrs. Lenor Lillian Barnes of Marshalltown, Mrs. Edna Elizabeth Taylor of Winterset, Iowa, Greta Maxine Hymes, Mrs. Virgie Lucille Leeper, Mrs. Phillis Irene Howell and Mrs. Marcella Mondeva Mueller, all of Des Moines.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 20 at 2 p.m. at the Elliott Chapel at New London. Burial will be at Burge Cemetery.
