James Steven Guiberson, 87, of the 2100 block of Southeast Leland Avenue died of a heart attack Tuesday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Winterset, Mr. Guiberson had lived in Des Moines since 1930. He worked for Rock Island Motor Transit before retiring and was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Teamsters.

He is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Bishop of Des Moines and Lois June Ross of Utic, Mo.; a son, Leslie Hausenfluck of Krum, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth.

Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to World War II Veterans' Memorial Fund.
