Della May Bolling was born in Madison county, Iowa, November 24, 1883. She lived here until 14 years ago. At that time she went to Portland, Oregon, with her mother and brother. During her residence there she graduated from the Portland Business College.

She went to Kansas in 1904 and for two years was cashier for the Katy eating house at Parsons which position she resigned and was married to R. C. Vandinter Oct. 19, 1911. One child was born to this union Aug. 9, 1912. This child lived 7 mo. and 10 days. After this sorrow came to the mother her health failed rapidly and she passed from this life on May 17, 1914, at 2:45 p.m., after a long and lingering illness.

Her husband, mother, aunt, and her friends are left to mourn her death. The funeral services were held at the home, one half mile east of Mound Valley at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 1914, Rev. R. F. Harkness of the M.E. church, officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the beautiful Mound Valley cemetery.
