Paul Raymond Busch, 84, of Ames died of a respiratory ailment Wednesday in Story City. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Memorial Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Busch was born near Winterset and had lived in Ames since 1948. He owned and operated Busch Appliance Store and was chief engineer at the National Animal Disease Center until he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the American Institute of Plant Engineers.

Survivors include his wife, Winifred; two sons, Daniel P. Busch of Ames and Stephen Schumacher of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Shirley M. Tice of Ames and Wanda M. Thomas of Urbandale; a sister, Louise Elderkin of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is handling arrangements.
